Rick Crandall

EXCEPTIONAL BROADCASTER AND COMMUNITY LEADER

Rick Crandall

Rick Crandall is an exceptional broadcaster and community leader. Entercom Communications has announced at as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2020, Denver, KEZW will become a sports station and end its long-running easy listening and oldies format. Consequently, our friend, colleague and his Breakfast Club will sign off after an extraordinary 30-year run. Therefore, this is is an important and poignant moment.

VETERANS ADVOCATE

Rick started at KEZW on December 7, 1991, the fiftieth anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Thus, began his journey to Normandy and Omaha Beach, Hawaii, and the USS Arizona, and the Colorado Freedom Memorial. Moreover, his relationship with and love for our veterans us unsurpassed. Furthermore, among all his many accomplishments and unparalleled civic commitments, honoring our veterans is Rick’s biggest achievement. Additionally, he has also given several generations of history students at Regis College the insights of veterans, as they shared their important memories and life lessons.

STAR SPANGLED RADIO HOUR

Consequently, it will always be my great honor to be associated with Rick and his legendary run with KEZW. He and the station stepped up in 2010 to help us expand and promote the University of Colorado, our American Music Research Center and Glenn Miller Archives, when we launched the “Star Spangled Radio Hour” on the air and eventually online. As Rick embarks on the next phase of his exceptional career, let us all wish him well. Rick’s change prompts several reminders about our Star-Spangled Radio Hour and loyal listeners. Firstly, we will continue to stream the programs via my website as the KEZW Radio.com stream changes. For several weeks, you will hear “The Best of” previous programs. Then we will resume fresh productions with an upgraded audio experience as we continue to syndicate our licensed original big band broadcasts and recordings from the Glenn Miller Archives.

In conclusion, please join me in thanking Rick for his career of dedication and service to the people of Denver and Colorado, our veterans and you, our friends, and loyal listeners across North America and around the world. Moreover, thank you to his wonderful wife Diane for sharing him with us. God has graced us with your kindness and creativity. And there are many more adventures and projects to tackle. Well done, my brother!
